- Firewall Rules – Block unwanted traffic, allow specific ports, and set port forwarding.

- IPsec VPN – Secure site-to-site or remote access tunnels using strong encryption.

- OpenVPN – SSL-based VPN for flexible remote access across platforms.

- L2TP/IPsec VPN – Compatible with built-in VPN clients on Windows/macOS.

- Wire Guard VPN – Lightweight, fast VPN with modern cryptography (if supported).

- Dynamic DNS (DDNS) – Map dynamic WAN IP to a domain name for remote access.

- Access Control Lists (ACLs) – Restrict access to router services by IP or subnet.

- MAC Filtering & Whitelisting – Allow only known devices to connect to LAN/Wi-Fi.

- Quality of Service (QoS) – Prioritize bandwidth for VoIP, video, or business apps.

- Traffic Monitoring & Alerts – Enable SNMP/Syslog and configure email/SMS alerts.

- VLAN Segmentation – Separate guest, IoT, and corporate traffic with firewall rules.

- Remote Management Hardening – Disable remote admin access unless via VPN; enforce HTTPS and change default ports.

- Failover & Load Balancing Policies – Define thresholds (e.g., RSRP < -110 dBm) and use weighted logic for WAN bonding.

- Time-Based Rules – Schedule firewall or access rules based on time-of-day or day-of-week.
